Jo, I thought it was the other way around.
I know here on the peninsula 2 OB's are leaving Obs and purely doing gynae,
their reasons the premiums are too high for Obs. Along with the closure of
Obstetric ward at the Private Hospital down the road this has reduced
women's choices-admittedly in the private area the lack of birthing options
was compensated by the pleasant surroundings, own toilet/bathroom, phones to
the bed and the lengthy stay they could enjoy following their birth
