Hi everyone,
I have almost found my desk and even found the tea towels last night!!  (for those of you who don't know, I finally moved into my new home almost 4 weeks ago...4 weeks without tea towels).

Anyway, I read with great interest about the WFO -woman friendly OB.  What I am missing though is NAMES!!!  I know the real reason for remaining anon..but from a consumers point of view it is so darn hard to get to know who these wfo are!  We can only go by reputations and at the moment we can only go by the bad reps!  It would be really pro active to be able to say to women that this particular ob is wonderful and woman focused...instead of saying this one is not.
The main problem is that for those of us who don't work with these doctors everyday, it is very hard for us to be in the know.  Good news doesn't travel as fast as bad.  It would be great if we could be in a situation that we can actually acknowledge those doctors who are on our side...the woman's side...by naming them in a public forum.  I think that if it was common knowledge that wfo are highly sought after and appreciated then it may make some stop to think "well what am I doing so wrong that women are requesting some one in particular and that person is not me??"
I think those who are doing their bit for woman focused care are doing it just as hard as we are if not harder than we are, within their profession and should be thanked for their support, courage (in some cases) and dedication.  We should be able to support them for supporting us.  It must be really hard for those who are wfo and be continually put in the basket of 'those mean, rotten, bast**ds'.  Kinda like us being branded as 'hippy, radical, pro-natural birthers' (strange how some insults can actually be compliments too!)
Anyway, is it something we should consider changing and actually name credit when credit is due?  Obviously if the reports are bad, then naming names would be inappropriate (my hubby is always on at me about defamation!?) but why should people be in need of autonomy for doing good?
Alright, I know that there are many reasons why not to name names...and when I have the privilege of getting more than 2 two hours continuous sleep and the cries of "mum! where are my Thomas jox?" then it will all seem as clear as mud....
but for now, it would be nice to know who these wfo are.
cheers and snores!
