I have a friend that just started menstruating a whole 3 years after last baby. Another friend has had 9 periods since January 1988! She is preg with number 8. My cousin had no periods from the time she first conceived her 1st child until over 2 years after she had her 4th - 8 years in total.
Rhonda - with my last child I got my period back at 6 weeks after birth. I had just quit with the lochia 1 1/2 weeks before. And I breastfeed often, no dummies, sleep with baby etc etc ....... he started sleeping 7 hours a night at 5 weeks so maybe that's why. He was 42/40. A couple of times I've ceased menstruating for up to 5 months at a time when I've been training more intensely than usual. Although I haven't been breastfeeding at these times. Apparently to do with body fat levels. This is a very fascinating subject! Happy long weekend! Just wondering if anybody can give me any > information about lactational ammenhorea, and when women can expect their > periods back. Whats the longest amount of time you've heard of women > resuming menstruation after breastfeeding? Are there any disorders (ex. > hormonal, premature menopause) that women can get postnatal/post > breastfeeding that would cause menstruation to cease?
