Mary our women’s hospital, being WA?
I would be interested in the stats

I have been reading the latest stats for our womens hospital and find the figures alarming. In the public sector (lots of high risk) the figures for last year, C/S are about 26% and instrumental and induction are high but understandable to some degree. What alarms me is that in the private sector of that same hospital (same wards, midwives, doctors) the c/s rate was well over 50% last year and for this year to date is 62%. Now, if the government is encouraging families to take out private insurance then this risk factor for complicated birth will sure do more harm than good to the budget? not to say- the women? Maybe the Pollies aren't aware of this fact? MM
