I'm just thinking about how great a difference the model of care which gives women a midwife as her primary caregiver makes. Compared with the 50% rising to 62% C/S rate of women with an obs as her primary caregiver
I've just been with a woman who has finished her birth journey with a C/S. I realised that she was the first primip that I have travelled with who has ended up with a C/S and only the second client of mine to have a C/S. This is in a group of more than 100 women as I have had a client base of 10-15 women each year for 10 years. Strange really to realise this. On a positive note I was working with an obs who seems to trust me. When we transfered into hospital he believe my VE and ordered treatment as the mother, father and I advised and when I asked him to come into the hospital to do a C/S he did, again without questioning my assessment of the situation only consulting respectfully. Amazing but true! In peace and joy Sally Westbury -- This mailing list is sponsored by ACE Graphics. Visit <http://www.acegraphics.com.au> to subscribe or unsubscribe.
