[ozmidwifery] flouride suppliments in pregnancy

Dear list, I have been asked by a young couple early in their first pregnancy about the pros and cons of taking flouride suppliments in pregnancy, both for the mum and the baby. The water supply in this area is not flourinated. I dont have any knowledge about this topic but am hoping someone on the list may be able to help with where to look for information.
