Hello listers,

The program for the next round of Future Birth events is up on our web
site. This time, the theme will be focusing on what is happening with
midwifery in Australia right now and also how midwifery could be if we
seize the day and get the changes we want for women and midwives.

We've lined up an array of fantastic speakers:

Mavis Kirkham, Professor of Midwifery from Sheffield, who will look at the
midwife/mother relationship and why this is so important. She's done lots
of fascinating research and also carries a caseload herself - to keep her
hand in!

Tracy Reibel is one of the architects of NMAP and a passionate advocate for
midwifery care. She's had a Churchill Fellowship this year to investigate
midwifery team practices in other countries and is completing her term as
the Director of the Community Midwifery Program in Fremantle.

Vanessa Owen will, as ACMI Presidcnet, bring us up to speed on the current
legislative and insurance scenes as they affect midwives, students and
others. By April there wil be further developments and this will be an
ideal opportunity for you to find out where things stand.

Caroline Flint is everyone's favourite midwife. She will inspire you with
the possibilities of midwifery practice in her own inimitable way,
illustrated with stories from her highly successful London based
independent practice. You'll leave on a high!

It is going to be quite a day! There are the usual group discounts, early
registration discounts and other goodies for those booking on-line. April
may seem a long way off, but you'll want to put these dates in your diary
NOW so you can be sure to be there.

See you there,

Andrea
