Yep - i had the same thing - trhe u/s at 29 weeks showed he was
1800grams - my daughter born at 27weeks was 1010grams so for him to be so
much larger by 29 weeks was easy for me to put into perspective as a huge
baby and one dr said that if he kept growing at that rate he would be a
giant. I was a bit worried about that.
But I had an inner 'knowing' that he wasn't that big and when the dr
said CPD I was so cross because why wait till I had been in labour for
hours and then say that after doing an U/S at 36+ weeks. They should
have known then! I didn't believe anything they said after a while
it was just all bullshit.
Whatever they felt like saying to bend me to their will.
Women are taught to listen to them - they know best etc and really as
far as I could tell it was all guess work. My guess was as good as
theirs too.
BTW he was 8lb 10oz. head 36cms. Huge! well when
you have had one so tiny he seemed huge to me.

big baby fear?
Hi all,
I'm concerned that saying to a mother that their having a "nice big
baby" can be a bit terrifying as my niece just told me that she was so
glad she had a caesarean because he was such a big baby. He was actually
only... weight 2980, length 49.5cm head circumference 35.5cm. I
asked her why she thought this was big as its her second child and second
ceasar. Her reply was that all through her pregnancy she was told that he
was a big baby, even a very big baby! maybe it was because my niece is
very overweight that this was said, I don't know? I'm sure the Midwives
meant that he was a healthy baby not to huge to be birthed. What is a big
baby anyway?
Curious as always Julie'',
