I feel that more and more antenatal testing is done just because we can.

 

I always look at testing to see if it will change ‘management’ of a pregnancy.

 

If the information is necessary for a decision then we do it… for example if someone is bleeding then a scan for positioning of placenta.

 

If the scan doesn’t change management then we don’t do it.. for example a dating scan when the woman knows when she conceived.
