Hi all...
I have not been on this list for a few months... getting organised in my new state (WA, Perth) since moving over from Melbourne.  I am loving the weather and lifestyle over here, and generally am enjoying my job.  I am working as a midwife in a hospital over here in the postnatal ward.  I am happy to say that the breast feeding rate over here is much higher than at my old hospital!

Yet still, I see women having unecessary interventions.  So many inductions and luscs. :(  So many antibiotics, so many 'just incase' things.  No trust in the womans body.  I am having 4 weeks in the birth suites in May... will see how I go.

I know I do not want to work in a hospital as a Midwife.  Unfortunately, the only birth centre is 40 min away.  I will think about it!

We love it so much over here that we have started the ball rolling for buying land and building.  It's very exciting!  That is why I am working full time.

Anyway, I look forward to reading more interesting chats :)

Jo
