I too had similar feelings when I "trained " in 77/78 and at times have gone through similar thoughts (think I'll go computer nerd, or something, sell materials or just do embroidery [not the perineal type!!!]. It's part of the interesting walk of the breed known as Midwife. Keep one foot moving after the other, the next bend is just around the corner along with all the other cliches. Keep smiling.
