Sally Tracy long-awaited paper on the dollar cost of birth interventions in Australia has finally appeared in the British JOurnal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology this week. There is no direct URL for this paper unless you have a subscription (unlike the BMJ) which is a pity, but I have put a few highlights and the reference onto my Diary today:

I think we should elevate Sally to the status of a "National living treasure" and also her husband Mark, who co-wrote this paper. They have given us some invaluable arguments to hit the pollies over their heads and in their hip pockets.
