At the ACMI conference held in Darwin, Pat Brodie and Nicky Leap suggested
it was a valuable resource to any midwife - considering I am studying
midwifery I thought it a good thing to have on my CV. I wondered, being in
second year direct entry, whether the course would be over my head.
I am of course entirely dedicated and focused on natural and normal birth
for all women as it should be. I am struggling with being placed in a
level 3 hospital as all I seem to see is intervention - its horrible... the
only thing that keeps me going is some of the lovely homebirths I have
attended and the few in hospital that manage to get away unbutchered.
I have attended active birth workshops with both Andrea and Lina Clerke and
have studied with Rhea Dempsey also. I was the assistant secretary of the
maternity coalition 2 years ago.
Out of interest, would you be interested in putting something on your
website for National Caesarean Awareness Day? I have put together a seminar
for this day which is to be held at Box Hill Hospital and features Rhea
Dempsey, Annie Sprague and a mother who has had a successful VBAC to discuss
options for women who have had a caesarean section.
Thanks for replying to my message.
Danielle.
