Jennifer, don't do what our unit does. Ours is not to
be benchmarked by...
Women who give birth on a given day are Day 1. Even at
2 minutes to midnight. A LOT of the time, babies aren't even 48 hours old
when weighed on 'day 3' which causes problems on the day 5 weight when the baby
hasn't put on 'enough' weight yet. (since they are truly not day 5).
Depending on whether mum's milk is in yet whether comp feeds are given or
not. EBM is always used first though.
