Hi Pinky - I agree with you absolutely! By resorting to feeding your baby EBM in a bottle when out - or hiding away somewhere, you are perpetuating the warped belief that breastfeeding is a 'private' act and should be done somewhere 'private'. This is baby no. 3 and I have ALWAYS breastfed my babies whenever and wherever they required it - and quite proudly might I add!!! Yet, I do admit to being thrown by such revulsion and wondering for a mere second - was I not modest enough??? I have since disregarded such a thought - and know that SHE had the problem... not my baby suckling away... and certainly not me, the attentive and loving mother - meeting my baby's needs.
"more public breastfeeding" - ABSOLUTELY!!!! cheers, Nicole ----- Original Message ----- From: Pinky McKay <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, December 08, 2003 9:43 AM Subject: Re: [ozmidwifery] birth and breastfeeding attitudes > Hi Nicole - you realise that by breastfeeding your baby when and where he > needs to be nursed you are "normalising" breastfeeding.
