I have the same response when people say i am brave having a homebirth.

And I love telling my story to people in the hope that it may open their hearts to other possibilities.
I do believe though that whatever people believe to be true, is perfectly true and right for them - as homebirthing was for me. And if a simple conversation about my birth can provide information to someone else so they are able to make a more informed choice...so be it. And then i respect their choice.

Jo I must be rude and bad mannered because I often tell people in response to "you must be brave to have a homebirth" that they must be brave to go to hospital.

Woops, never looked at it as being rude, I always felt it was an appropriate way to start the conversation roling about birth. Hope I haven't offended too many people.
