Hi Claire,

The ABS has a website but you will need to dig a lot deeper to find the
stats you are after. You can email them and request which publications
you would need for the stats you are after and then your best bet is to
look up the publication such stats would be reported in at a uni library
which houses ABS publications in the reference section. Then you can
pick out the relevant publications and photocopy what you need. You
won't be able to get stats like that online in this country.

Interesting to note that when I put in a request to the Netherlands
about their stats they emailed me the documents!

Good luck!

Cheers,

Cas.

Subject: [ozmidwifery] statistics

Dear All,

Can anyone direct me to a good website for Australian stats? I am
interested in the changes in caesar rates, and the changes in infant and

maternal mortality over as long a period as possible.

Thank you,

Claire Saxby
