The community midwife program is running and is offering caseload midwifery care. The program is very popular and you need to book very very early.
The Women's Centre for Health Matters Canberra runs a 'Having a Baby In Canberra' information evening every Monday (bookings required) about choices in birthing for women. Most women attending are planning a pregnancy or in early pregnancy. Partners welcome. The evening includes discussions on models of care, choices available in Canberra and childbirth preparation classes, yoga etc.. Please see the website htpp://www.womenshealthmatters.org.au There is more information about birthing services in Canberra on this site.
