My questions would be - how often is this baby feeding (is it dehydrated), is mum giving ANYTHING other than  breastmilk (even just the occasional bottle of formula). Thyroid is interesting but should have been picked up on the Guthrie test as that tests for hypothyroidism.
Personally I think I would want a fully BF baby of that age who is well hydrated investigated perhaps by a gastro specialist for other problems

Subject: [ozmidwifery] constipated baby

Can anyone give me some hints please?  I have a client with MS who has a 3/12 breast fed baby who is constipated.   This baby has only had X2 episodes of this constipation, waits 4-5 days, ++++ pain and then a result of rabbit pellets which are chalky in appearance.   The GP had an x-ray which showed a small amount of impaction and suggested a suppository and some prune juice.   Mum said that there is no changes in her that she is aware of, tho she is very tired, and fatigue sometimes is a trigger for her MS.   Thanks
Take care,
   Judy
