The project is to provide advice to health ministers and Australian Dept of Health and AGeing on the GP workforce, on the following:     * GP practice workforce supply and requirements.     * the structure, balance and geographic distribution of workforce     * the number and distribution of vocational training places needed       to meet expected future rquirements. Agenda (generic) Changing patient needs     * what are the emerging and/or changing patient needs which will       impact on the GP workforce? e.g. emerging diseases/conditions,       selfmanagement of chronic disease, remote and isolated patients Patient expectations and use of Medical services     * what are patients attitudes to and expectations of medical services?     * what factors influence patient choices/preferences, for example;       types of gp practices, non gp servies such as specialists,       alternative health practitions     * patients attitudes to alternative/new models of care, for exampe;       multi-disciplinary care teams, role substitution       (Nursepractioners), preventative care. Patient expectations and use of GP services what are patient attitudes and expectations in relation to gp services?     * cost     * access     * methods of consultation/engagement (telemedicine)     * broader health role (e.g. information, education, preventive       medicine, social care)     * quality of care I look forward to hearing from as many interested parties as possible, with obviously our focus on women and childrens health care around pregnancy, birth and postnatal.
