>Yes it was beautiful, such a pain that my sound card has gone dead.

I will invoke a little bit of ancient history and personal ramblings, SORRY
in advance. When I had my 2nd baby almost 30 years ago, in the "GOOD OLD
DAYS", ha, I declined the interventions which I had been trained with in the
hospital, the IV if in labour for more than 4 hours, the enema and the
shave, I felt the need to sit up, sat on the side of the bed for what seemed
like hours, till I needed to move, then I stood, still at the side of the
bed, hanging onto the mask for the nitrous, very tight, till my husband
arrived (he was a self employed chef and had to feed about 80+ people before
coming to the hospital), then I held onto him, very tight. Despite the
obvious disapproval of the midwife on shift than night, I did what I felt I
needed. Wow, I thought I had forgotten all those feelings, but they have
all come back in a wave. I think I will ring my daughter and talk to her
about things, my labour with her and hers with her children!

thanks for the memories jogged and all the fascinating discussions from the
listers. Judy
