Dear Sylvia, Are the spaces due to choroid plexus cysts?  My sister was told with her first son in-utero that he had spaces in his brain that were indicative of a chromosomal disorder and he also had other 'soft' signs such as receding chin. She had a real dilemma and I think chose the amnio. She went on to give birth to an incredibly articulate and intelligent, perfectly formed son, who she risked losing through the tests. It comes down to personal choice, intuition or faith. Cheers Fiona
