SOOOO glad I had my babies at home - what will they think of next ?????? Why not just invent an artificial womb that can sit in the loungeroom for nine months with a little window in it so we can watch the fetus develop and if it's not quite 'right' just start all over again and then at exactly 40 weeks gestation (no longer of course) open up the cupboard and voila - a baby!
No pain, no mess, no interuption to our busy lives! I agree with you Tania about control. I think a woman who is vocalising, rocking, grunting, yelling etc is so in tune with herself and her baby, she is soooo there that she is nowhere else, just doing it - in total control and in her own power. (DVT here we > come!) Hi Michelle. I just thought I'd let you know how 'cold' epidurals work in my hospital (for private patients only!)... The epidural is put in just before the prostin with a test dose. The prostin is put in, and the woman then decides when she needs the full epidural dose. If the prostin doesn't put her into labour, then she doesn't have a proper epidural dose until the next day when she is started on the synt drip and has the ARM. Just letting you know no stuck in bed for 24 hours usually, so not much DVT risk :) Of course if she can't stand the prostin cramps, then she might ask for the epidural top up, and not really be in labour.
