With our daughter we planned to give her vitamin K at birth only if she was early, bruised, had a difficult birth, etc. None of these things happened so she didn't have it. We had planned to do the same this time around but reading the risks for Haemorrhagic Disease of the Newborn, I noticed that treatment of mother during pregnancy with anticoagulants is listed. I have taken Clexane 40 for my entire pregnancy so far and will be stopping at 34w. Does anybody have any idea whether the use of clexane earlier in the pregnancy would still be a risk factor at term or is this referring more to women who are taking Clexane or similar right up to delivery?
