Haven't been able to find much on this (i.e. research that supports the belief that delaying cord clamping in an active third stage increases liklihood of problems for the neonate). So emailed George Morley from the cord clamping website and his reply was:
"I don't think it makes a lot of difference as long as you don't clamp the cord, but only use oxytocin. Methegine or any othe ergot drug is poisonous and could harm the child" Regards Lisa
