The Content Editor web part, and associated Rich Text Editor for list items, both suffer from converting relative URLs in to absolute URLs if you use the standard UI to create links/images. If you edit the HTML it works better but when you re-open the editor it’ll convert the links anyway.
The Telerik RAD Editor on the other hand does not suffer from this. I’ve used the Telerik Editor on a number of deployments and it works much better than the Content Editor. Also the Image and Link Managers that Telerik use are much more user friendly than the WSS versions. The difference is less pronounced with MOSS which at least has a decent entity picker available.
