Thanks guys,

I believe the issue is licked, turns out the only difference between the dev
with this issue and the other Dev’s is she was using Sharepoint Designer to
edit her work before deployment for small tweaks. She was using the SD picker
to browse and insert url’s, she has stopped this behaviour and the issue seems
to be resolved. Both the source url issue and the connection string issue.

Thanks for all your responses, they were much appreciated.

Cheers.

The Content Editor web part, and associated Rich Text Editor for list items,
both suffer from converting relative URLs in to absolute URLs if you use the
standard UI to create links/images. If you edit the HTML it works better but
when you re-open the editor it’ll convert the links anyway.

The Telerik RAD Editor on the other hand does not suffer from this. I’ve used
the Telerik Editor on a number of deployments and it works much better than the
Content Editor. Also the Image and Link Managers that Telerik use are much more
user friendly than the WSS versions. The difference is less pronounced with
MOSS which at least has a decent entity picker available.

Hey mate,

I’ve had this issue previously, however it was specific to the Telerik RAD
Editor for MOSS.

Where are you experiencing the problem? In VS, Sharepoint Designer, editing
pages themselves?

One of our Dev’s is having an issue, they code relative image source urls using
../../images/file.jpg. When they save this page these links get transformed to
http://servername/sitename/images.file.jpg

Is there anyway to turn this behaviour off, or is this peculiar, other Dev’s on
the team don’t seem to have this issue.

Any Suggestions.

Cheers
