A secondary problem I've encountered in the process is that new site URLs are
being converted to caps.

i.e. I create a new site with URL of 'services' and it gets created as
'SERVICES'.

Simply revisiting and clicking OK in Site Settings->Title, Description and Icon
page corrects the problem.

Again, feature or bug?

It's definitely still there and I've double checked this.

It seems it only works on web parts, not actual lists (after all, it's not a
security feature).

But I would have thought that it would at least work within the Site Directory
pages which all use content rollup web parts, and the site navigation controls.
I'm just trying to establish if this is all by design, if something is broken,
or if this is a known bug.

I have had that before. And I go to check if the audience is still there, it's
been removed. I've had to click apply then ok a few times then it works.

Subject: Audience targetting for Sites

Hi guys,

I've enabled audience targeting on the sites list in Site Directory. It does
not appear to be working.

Issues include:

* Sites in list views are still visible - Site Map, Categories, Top
Sites etc.

* When creating a new site from the Site Actions menu, the Target
Audiences field becomes mandatory (it's not) and does not include a picker
control.
Am I missing something? I wasn't sure what to expect but imagined that these
sites would become invisible from lists and query web parts, and also be
removed from the navigation controls.

Kind regards,

Paul
