Knew there'd be a blocker somewhere. Pity. Still, that shouldn't stop you from using the standard Doc library created for all publishing sites. I don't imagine that "storing" aspx pages as content was a requisite? The upshot of this is that you can also create more as required.

This is a shame, because it would still have been the simplest solution for the client. I tried adding crawl rules, setting content types to article pages, but nothing would entice MOSS to crawl non-WCM items within the Pages library. The crawl logs didn't even display a "skipped" message for them. Thanks to everyone that offered advice on this Ivan From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ivan Wilson Sent: Tuesday, 10 February 2009 12:22 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Storing documents in a Pages library I'm considering using the Pages library on publishing sub-sites to store both the WCM pages and the documents for that section. Apart from not being able to use folders, is there any other technical reason that might affect this? I want staff to be able to use the standard browser functionality to create their own views of their documents and pages. Their current intranet treats a web page as if it was a standard file. If I separate these into a Pages library and a Documents library then they will lose the ability to browse through their content as they do today. I don't want to go down the path of configuring Data View web parts or custom development.
