But there are clearly two problems with that.

1) You need to run an update on the parent CT.
2) What's the use in having the option to "push down" if it's not going to make 
it to the list level - where it's so obviously required!?

Honestly some days I just feel overwhelmed by the number of these obvious 
oversights.

Subject: Content Type column order

Quick and easy question (hopefully).

I have a custom content type that inherits from another. The only difference 
between them is that I want to change some required fields to optional.

So I simply add my column refs and change required to False. But the column 
order has now changed - the modified columns have been added last, even though 
they inherit! Am I required to detail ALL field references for this child 
content type - again - in the order already specified by the parent?
