We use Google analytics for our website which works very well.

For our Intranet we didn't have a budget but really wanted some better trending
on user adoption. So we ended up importing the log files into a SQL database
and created analysis services cube to report in Excel. Only took us a couple of
days to write and works quite well.

I'm using Lite and it's already good enough (at least to get page views and
usage stats). With the Enterprise you will obviously get a lot more such as
search terms, etc.

The enterprise comes with 30 day trial mate, I suggest you try it. It will
revert to Lite automatically when the trial is ended.

It's very-very easy to configure. You just need to add a Javascript snippet to
your master page/page layout and that's it.

@ Michael - we actually used to use WebTrends on our internet site (before MS
bought it I think), but found Google Analytics easier to use (and free!) for
the internet site. Only problem is getting it to work on the intranet site.
@ Drew - please let us know how that goes!
@ Tommy - are you using Lite or Enterprise?

Thanks for all the suggestions so far!

Used WebTrends for internet sites. Really good one. MS uses it across number of
sites

Subject: Web Analytics / Stats for SharePoint

Hi guys,

We're currently looking around for web analytics / web stats software for our
intranet and internet sites (both SharePoint 2007, of course), and I was
wondering what everyone else was using?

Looking at the archives of ozMOSS, Nintex Reporting was suggested at one point
(looks pretty, but sounds too expensive for us), as well as something to do
with using Google Analytics on the intranet - does anyone have more information
on how that works, or alternatives?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Zelda
