The last time I did this in 2007, I used the advanced search function. Edit
the web part to show scopes and view it in the web page. Now copy the HTML
source for the entire web part into your preferred html editor. Now you can
change the preferred scope/s to hidden fields and remove any scopes you do
not wish to search (and do whatever customisations you would like). Copy
this html to a content editor web part and remove the advanced search - and
this should return just the results for the scope you are seeking.

Don't know if this is more complicated than it needs to be but it worked for
me.

You can set the scope in the results page, specifically in core results
webpart.

Sorry Paul.

It's 2007. If I modify the search box webpart I have a "Scopes Dropdown"
option but I can't see anywhere to actually limit the scope?

Cheers,

Nathan

2007 or 2010? We have to be specific these days. J

In 2007 you can set a custom scope to the search box or search results web
part.

Subject: Limiting Scope in Search Center

Hi,

I have gone ahead and created a search scope in the SSP and created a new
Search Center site. How do I limit the site to only search within the scope
I just created?

I can't find the option anywhere.

Regards,

Nathan
