This was finally resolved by locally upgrading any solutions that deployed
controltemplates on the affected server. It also resolved the issue of an
unwanted control template that would periodically re-appear after deletion -
even though the feature that deployed it was not activated anywhere.

It's as though the solutions on this server were out of synch but I can't
imagine how. Its physical memory was also replaced recently due to malfunction,
which may also have played a part.

Paul

Subject: Corrupt delegate control?

Hi guys,

This is going to sound odd and I guarantee no one else has experienced this
but...

After running the October CUs yesterday all site pages have an empty set of
span tags immediately after the AdditionalPageHead delegate is called.

<!--Add call to DelegateControl with AllowMultipleControls flag to enable
run-time magic. -->
<span></span>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="/_layouts/CEO.jQuery/jquery.min.js<view-source:http://www.ceosyd.catholic.edu.au/_layouts/CEO.jQuery/jquery.min.js>"></script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="/_layouts/CEO.jQuery/jquery.cycle.all.min.js<view-source:http://www.ceosyd.catholic.edu.au/_layouts/CEO.jQuery/jquery.cycle.all.min.js>"></script>

I have no idea where this is coming or why it only just appeared. It's not
happening in my dev or stage farm which both have the same solutions deployed.

It's not in the master or layout pages. I've deactivated all features in a test
site and it still remains. This is driving me nuts.

Is there ANY chance at all that this control has (or can) become corrupt? Can
anyone tell me where it's located so I can check it out?? :)

Kind regards,

Paul Noone
