"on the Adobe pricing front" (I cannot speak on this for Microsoft, as I don't know the systems that well)
The Adobe store pricing is not the cheapest you will get :-) Also Adobe has volume licensing programs (serial number on web site, DVDs in the mail) that can save $, too. Resellers don't have to handle lots of physical goods, so they should be able to pass on their savings. The pricing in the store has exchange rate fluctuations factored in -- price the products wrong, and the local resellers can claim unfair competition via TPA. Also, there is a cost to landing physical product into Australia, plus the GST. Why do I know some of this stuff? I did it for 3 years. My final statement is to shop around.
