Dave, the Web Application Policy worked a treat! Thanks (I would never have
found that in a million years).

Jeff, TFS Admin tool is only good for managing permissions on a per-project
basis. I was looking for an overall permission for all sites regardless of
when they get created.

Thanks team.

I typically go into Central Administration and set the policy for web
application to the tfs admin group I have set up in active directory. That
gives you admin of all the tfs project sharepoint sites.

I would think Site Collection Administrator at the root would give you what
you need, but I know for certain that Farm Administrator won't. That's one
of the new features of WSS 3.0. You can find a more detailed explanation
here.

Subject: WSS Permissions for ALL project sites

Hiyas,

I fall down when it comes to the WSS side of TFS. I mean, I hit the ground
really hard.

I am running one of the HyperV images from MS for TFS. I renamed one of the
accounts to 'Steven' (because that's my name, not Darren, can MS fix this
please? J )

I have created 5 projects with the TFSSetup account with no problems (other
than those Martin helped me with over twitter).

But my 'Steven' user cannot see the contents of 'Documents' and gets bounced
for permissions when trying to hit the sites directly.

So I added him to 'Site Collection Administrators', 'Administrator full
access for the root site', and every other permission I could find.

I then did the same in central administration - Site Collection
Administrator, and added me to the Farm administrators.

Still can't get documents for any project.

Added me individually on one of the projects as 'full control', and bingo, I
get documents access.

So which permission is the grand daddy of all others, and will give me
access to all current and future projects all in one foul swoop?

Thanks,

Steve
