We have TFS 2010 in place with several team projects, workitems, and sharepoint sites, etc. We are restructuring the team projects and moving it over to new hardware (new server). What are recommended approaches to take and/or anything to be aware of?
I believe I can import the DB on the new server and run configuration, etc. After new server is up and running, I need to clean up and rearrange team projects, etc. We cannot have our TFS down during this process, so users will need to continue working on old server. When we are ready, can we simply refresh the data with any changes made since the import? If yes, will there be any problems with the refresh since we will be renaming team projects, etc on the new TFS? Thanks for suggestions/recommendations given.
