Thank you so much, Paul/Brian/Shenol, for you kind advices. It works fine now. I ran the build to append the new features to the existing repository and then started categoryPublisher to generate the category for the whole repository. I'm just wondering whether the feature version number in the file category.xml can be more generic. Our feature version contains a time stamp which keeps changing in each build. I need to manually change the version number in category.xml before running it. Hope I can set a generic version number. But this is not a big deal.

J What I mean is to do it in two: - First, you run the features and bundles publisher ? you have already implemented that step, by what I understand. - Then you run the category publisher, pointing it to the repository, generated in the previous step, as a value of ?-metadataRepository?. You don?t need to use any source folder here (and you can?t, obviously). You can implement the two steps as two ant tasks, running back to back, in your build. You have already written the task for the feature publisher, now just do the same for the category publishing. As it takes arguments similar to the features and bundles publisher, you can give it a try. The other way is to run the category publisher after publishing the features and bundles with a proper category.xml, pointing to the already created metadata repository. But when the new features are built, the content.xml and artifacts.xml only contains the newly built features. And the manual merge of the files with the old one is next to impossible.
