For context, the current batch of applicants to new Top Level Domains
is closed, and the next batch of applicants won't be accepted for 5
years or more.  It cost (this time around) $185000USD to apply, and
resulted in over 300 pages of paperwork and forms filled out for an
application.  It also requires getting up and running with a reliable,
DNSSEC-signed, DNS server within 6 months of your application being
approved.
