Placing the "n...@domain" in the CN of the certificate yields smaller X509 structure that uses no V3 extensions, and it defines both the overlay name ("domain" part) and the AoR. It's perfect for a small self-sign certificate.


The "emailAddress" field is non-compliant with the draft. Why are you referring to X509 v3 extensions? Would you care to share the whats and whys of your usage?
