See: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Python python_sitelib falls under the category of "uses macros properly" per the checklist (already defined in the macro definitions of fedora) rm -rf isn't necessary but you know what your doing Ian, so your best judgement there makes sense.
