Hi Abhijit,
Sorry for the delay, we were in a release process recently.
Let me try to answer your questions :
1. Is there a portal the end users can use to access their account
other than the captive portal which appears during registration or due
to violations? My users may want to get into their accounts and see
the MAC's registered to their accounts or delete old MAC's which may
no longer be pertinent.
Not for the end users. There is an administration UI that lists all the
nodes that PacketFence detected on the network, but this is only
accessible to administrative users (ie. Network Engineers, Helpdesk,
etc). Can you give me a little more details on the use case?
2. How do we active the AUP and require that the registration does not
go through without the user accepting the AUP? I have found references
to the AUP in the documentation but I have not been able to figure out
how to activate it.
By default, PacketFence have two pages for the registration process, one
that presents informative informations (Mac address/IP) to the end user,
and one for the login. What I would suggest is to modify that first
page with your own AUP, and when I client hits the register button, you
consider he accepts the AUP. This file is located in
/usr/local/pf/html/user/content/templates/register.html
3. If we specify an Unreg date will the MAC address disable itself on
that date? I did a few tests for that but it did not work. Also some
violations allow the end user to reactivate their account and the
message states that you will be re-enabled for a few minutes so you
can download updates etc, but unfortunately in my test it just
reactivates you period. So basically I was just wondering if I am
missing something to enable these packetfence features.
Can you post the pf.conf file so I can see what is your current
expire_mode? Same for the violations.conf... if possible.
Thanks!
