Hello List (Olivier & François & all),

We have an almost completely stable, working installation here ; it's
being tested more widely and is (largely) working with *both* EAP and
captive portal validation. (The two are available via different
SSIDs.) Thanks again for all assistance and advice ; it's greatly
appreciated.

The project is converging.

EAP authentication seems solid and always works. Our one remaining
obstacle is that, occasionally, perhaps one time out of five or ten,
the captive portal hangs on validation and, on the entry of user
credentials, does nothing - not even coming back with an 'invalid
userid / password' message. Entering the credentials repeatedly does
nothing.

We have worked our way through the web.pm module, tracing things by
inserting debug log entries into register.cgi where, seemingly, either
the CGI or the CGI::Session module from the Perl library seems to
'eat' the credentials and the approval return from freeradius. The two
Perl mods were refreshed from CPAN but that hasn't changed the
behaviour.

So, I suppose I'm asking for any ideas you might have about this. I
really am not sufficiently versed in Perl to trace through the library
modules.

Can the webserver session somehow be expiring prematurely ?

All / any input is appreciated ; I'm at a loss now.

Thanks again in advance (and, certainly, in general !),

Chris

Ps. Sorry for the delay, the days have been long lately - the new
Debian installation writeup is coming soon.
