I'm new to this list and in fact have just subscribed here, as I just heard
about Packetfence and would like to use it as a network security system!
Since I'm a Debian user, I added the repository for Packetfence to my
sources.list.d directory, ran aptitude update and then attempted to install
with aptitude install packetfence.
Well, unfortunately that doesn't seem to be possible for some reason, as I'm

Of course, accepting this would mean I'd end up with pretty much nothing at
all, as pretty much none of the dependencies would be met. Is there any easy
way of resolving this, or is the version from the repository unusable?
Also, when I install this on a machine with multiple ethernet ports, do I need
to setup things like DHCP, NAT, etc. manually, or should I leave the system as
"plain" as possible and configure these things using Packetfence?
