Hmmm.... At first glance, it appears all the necessary processes are running,
and I don't see anything that should prevent a simple ping from getting
through. If you have physical access to the box, are you able to access any
network resources from the PF Server? If not, there may be an issue with the
network interface. Do you know the state of SELinux on the machine?

At first I was thinking that limited memory might be the problem, however in
the log you posted, there are no entries that suggest attempted or successful
authentication or switch interaction so it appears this server is not currently
handling any requests. If that's the case, MySQL shouldn't be causing memory
issues. What OS are you running on the PF Server?

Next time you lose access to the web-based management console, the output from
these commands would be helpful:

ps -A
iptables -L
top -n 1 -b

Then, instead of restarting the server, try to restore connectivity to the
server using the command "service packetfence restart" (or whatever is
apropriate on your distro) and provide the output of the sanity check that is
performed during that startup.

What mode are you operating Packetfence in? Inline (all traffic goes through
PF) or Out-of-band (PF controls traffic on switches through VLANs)?

Subject: [PacketFence-users] packetfense issue

I have a packetfense issue and I was wondering if someone could possibly answer
it

After we do the initial install of packetfence and setup the product lets us
configure and install. Then the next morning we come in we try to connect to
web interface just times out. We have to reboot the server just to connect
back to web interface. It's the same situation everyday. Now just recently
that's not working.

I posted the logs for the 28th on
http://pastebin.centos.org/39906

The only thing I've run into that may explain it is some iptables rules that
lock access down to the management network.

If anyone could give me any feed back or suggestions I would be ever so
grateful.
