I had an installation based on 3.6.1 with Cisco switches with mac-security
configured and SNMP management.
I've migrated from 3.6.1 to 4.0.5 as follows:
- backed up configuration files
- remove 3.6.1 version
- installed 4.0.5 version
- upgraded database
- copied over configuration files
PF starts fine, only complaning about the Apache::SSLLookup Perl library,
but it's fine since it's only tied to the portal, and not to the management
portal.
DHCP works fine as it only listens on its VLAN and ports were already set
up.
Howerver, when changing categories - now called roles, I do see how the UP
and DOWN traps are received.
Howerver, no changes is made to the port nor an error is shown on
packetfence.log.
I've filled all necessary fields using the management portal - didn't know
switch description was required; as well as setting up the default group
with all Vlans defined and deauth methods.
But still, no changes are made and no errors are shown.
I can upload configuration files if necessary, but this configuration was
working on 3.6.1.
Any hint?
