Yes, the problem is exactly as described and I just verified it. The
"default" role is assigned to VLAN 4, the "guest" role to VLAN 7 as per
switch.conf. Switching between the roles does cause my Cisco Catalyst 3750
to cycle the port but not to move it from one VLAN to the other as
appropriate.

Any advice on how to debug this will be appreciated.
