This is related to my other thread "No trusted SAM account", but I wanted to try and figure out if that thread is a wild goose chase. We had PacketFence setup using MAC authentication and it worked great except for the fact that Wake on LAN wouldn't work with it. In looking around the web, it appears as if Wake on LAN does work with 802.1x, but I was wondering if anyone has gotten PacketFence using 802.1x authentication with it? If not, then we will know that we will have to choose either PacketFence or Wake on LAN and then most likely go back to MAC authentication since at least we were able to get it working.
