For pftest you don´t have to know his password to check the rules.
The passsword is only needed to check authentication.

I did just modify my rules -- looks like I broke them! Looks like
I'll have to revisit them!
BTW, I've never used pftest. I can get it to work for me, but how
would I go about checking another user? It seems like I need to know
their password?

Most of the time, this is resulting of a node being registered
without a role… in that exact case, PacketFence is not able to
find what is the max nodes per user and fallback to “exceeded”.
You are right about the 0… this is unlimited.
What logs would I look through to troubleshoot this? I've looked
thorugh packetfence.log and radius.log.
Have a look at the packet fence.log file. Grep for “No role
specified or found for pid”
