There has been some discussion on this on the dev mailing list as well you
may want to check out. The main change is escalators are now called alerts.
Most of the API is the same. The calling function also always returns 1
which is a problem. I have done almost working code but an on my phone
right now. Bug me about it later so I don't forget.
