Thanks Fabrice,

If we’re only ever going to use the english language and will customize the .po
file to our university specific messages, is there a better way to do it than
edit the en packetfence.po file and run the command you provided below? I
wouldn’t want a future packetfence update overwriting it every time and me
having to restore it,

Thanks!

Hello Leja,

you can use this:

for TRANSLATION in de en es fr he_IL it nl pl_PL pt_BR; do
    /usr/bin/msgfmt conf/locale/$TRANSLATION/LC_MESSAGES/packetfence.po \
      --output-file conf/locale/$TRANSLATION/LC_MESSAGES/packetfence.mo
done

Btw if you have a better translation you can update
https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/packetfence and it will be available for
the next release.

Regards
Fabrice

Hello all,

I understand the Languages set in Configuration > Portal Profiles - we have
ours set to en_US meaning the /pf/conf/locale/en/.. should be triggered.

Is the preferred method to alter the messages within this is to edit the
packetfence.po file directly?

I started editing it but it’s not showing up in my testing - obviously I see
the message in english which means it’s hitting that file. Any ideas on how to
make those changes effective?

Thanks!
